Will Our Circle Be Unbroken?
My mind enjoys playing with lots of ideas, so, in keeping, my paintings proceed in lots of directions.
Given the resulting array of choices from which to select 10 paintings for this show, I figured it best to narrow the range of what I was presenting. And, having enjoyed a couple of recent Black-and-White exhibitions that invited my work, I decided to go with this Black-and-White…and-Sometimes-Red theme.
I’ve been surprised how much simple intensity can be conveyed through that focused presentation. It can be clean and uncluttered like Simple … But No Simpler, below, or a little wild and crazy like the circular array in Will the Circle Be Unbroken? above.
